About the Author
Brian grew up in Anchorage, Alaska. His
dad introduced him to the outdoors at an early age. Fishing and
hunting were a regular part of his life. Many of the essential skills
of surviving in the wilderness were learned. The author had first hand
experience at the age of 13 helping his father build a log cabin on
their property on Clear Creek, near Talkeetna, Alaska.
Brian graduated from Oklahoma State
University with a B.S. in International Business Management and moved
to the Seattle, WA area to pursue a career in sales.
His respect and passion for the outdoors
runs deep and is a big part of Brian’s life. He spends much time with
his family hiking, camping, fishing and hunting in the Washington
state area while making regular trips to Alaska to fish and visit the
family cabin.
Brian’s dad was diagnosed with cancer in
December of 2004 shortly after the fishing trip he took to the family
cabin discussed in this book. His dad battled the cancer bravely for
nearly a year and passed in November of 2005.
This book is his legacy.
