TonyJean Kile, chairman of the Brighton Historic Preservation Commission, presented Clear Creek Publishing (CCP) author, Robin Kring, with a 2023 Brick Award at Tuesday’s Brighton City Council. The Brick Awards were presented by the Commission to honorees that have dedicated significant time to historic preservation and/or the Brighton Museum. Kring was recognized with a 2023 Brick Award for her efforts to encourage interest and preservation of Brighton’s history and treasured places, helping to generate community pride and heritage.
The Commission also recognized 2023 recipients Sage Neumann, for his contributions to promoting Brighton historic preservation, and Barbara Heumann, for her extensive volunteer contributions at the City of Brighton Museum.
Passion for Saving Brighton's Treasured Places
Kring has authored several Brighton histories and is a frequent local history presenter and tour guide, and is a volunteer for the City of Brighton Museum and Brighton Cultural Arts Commission. Kring formerly served on the Brighton Historical Preservation Commission, in two separate terms in 2009 and 2016, and led to Colorado Preservation, Inc. “2015 Most Endangered Places Team” to document and photograph Brighton’s Great Western Sugar Factory complex.
