Don't miss The Brighton History Detective's stories of the cemetery's intriguing history, including the mystery of its Founders Mysteriously Missing from Grounds and the Victorian Cemetery Lore of the Town's First Undertaker (Historic Section in the Circle Drive).


Elmwood Cemetery will host its annual Historic Cemetery Walk (a self-guided tour) on Saturday, Oct. 12 from 1 - 3:30 p.m .at the cemetery located at 14800 Old Brighton Road. Period-costumed guides will give residents a peek into the lives of the city’s past leaders, farmers, pioneers and soldiers buried in the cemetery – all of whom have a story to be shared. 


Book Sales to Benefit Elmwood Cemetery



While there, pick up a copy of A Stroll through Elmwood: Brighton's Stories Told in Stone by Robin Kring aka The Brighton History Detective. The book was revised in 2024 to include expanded stories and photos (many now in color). A portion of sales proceeds will benefit Baby Land Graves and Wreaths Across America at the Cemetery.
