Don't miss The Brighton History Detective's story of one of Brighton's most intriguing characters, Marguerite Frink "Daisy" Counter, Boss Farmer in Frocks, Master Cheesemaker, and Fort Lupton Canning Company President. Hear the fascinating story of a remarkable lady that was well ahead of her time. She'll be near the south entrance near the Circle Drive.

Elmwood Cemetery will host its annual Historic Cemetery Walk (a self-guided tour) on Saturday, Oct. 11 from 1 - 3:30 p.m. at the cemetery, located at 14800 Old Brighton Road. Period-costumed guides will give residents a peek into the lives of the city’s past leaders, farmers, pioneers and soldiers, and those not-to-be-forgotten — all of whom have a story to be shared.

Book Sales to Benefit Elmwood Cemetery

While there, pick up a copy of A Stroll through Elmwood: Brighton's Stories Told in Stone by Robin Kring aka The Brighton History Detective. This self-guided tour includes directional maps, as well GPS QR codes, (including the unmarked grave of "Red" Barker of the infamous Barker Clan. You'll find 20 stories and over 150 photos of Brighton's most intriguing characters (both famous and infamous, and those not to be forgotten), featured in Year One of the annual walk. Also, included is The Tombstone Tourist's Guide to Hidden Symbolism, History of Elmwood Cemetery, History of the Elmwood Cemetery Walk, and a Glossary of Memorial Architecture.
Profits from books purchased at this year's historic walk will benefit Elmwood Cemetery's Baby Land Graves and Wreaths Across America at the Cemetery.
